Between sky and water
The sky often shows itself during the day or at night in eternally recurring spectacles as magnificent, mountain-like cloud formations, an overwhelming canopy of stars and dancing auroras. Images like paintings are created again and again and are enchanting.
The island of Gargnäs "place between sky and water" is surrounded by beautiful lakes and wild rivers.
The village is located 150 km south of the Arctic Circle in Swedish Lapland. Here, nature shapes the lives of the people. The indigenous Sami people are strongly represented with their traditional reindeer husbandry. Part of the last European indigenous people live semi-nomadically as far as possible in close contact with nature.
The Änglagård NatureResort
The vacation cottages and the main house are located on the large forest, lake and park grounds. There are four guest rooms spread over two floors, each with its own bathroom, 3 seminar rooms, communal terraces and balconies as well as a sauna. Breakfast is served together in the hall. This is also where the café and other culinary offerings take place.
In the park landscape, a barrel sauna with Jacuzzi, deckchairs and seating areas invite you to linger and relax. You can enjoy a Swedish coffee break (fika) on the large terrace with a view of the lake. In the evening, the fireplace or barbecue hut invite you to relax.
The sandy beach on Hemsjön with jetty, diving platform, changing rooms and lake sauna is just a few meters from the property. Here you can enjoy a wonderful swim and explore the lake and river landscape with our canoes or SUPs.
The NaturResort's village location allows for quick shopping at the well-stocked supermarket. The local heritage association sets up a mini-golf course around the village lake for the summer months. Next door at the Trollforsen campsite, there are delicious pizza dishes on Fridays and appointments for professional fishing guiding.
